Welcome to the website for the Nashville affiliate of ISM.

If you don’t know about us, we have been in Nashville since the 1950’s and we are the leading organization for the support of purchasing and supply management professionals in Middle Tennessee. We are the local affiliate of the Institute of Supply Management (ISM), which was established in 1915, and is fast becoming known worldwide.

As a member of our affiliate you will make valuable contacts. Networking with other members will increase your knowledge of trends in local business and industry.

We will provide you with high quality, timely educational opportunities and tools that will help you professionally. Our Board has one desire and that is to recruit, retain, and keep you motivated to continue this journey. We support your professionalism by offering ISM programs, certifications (CPM and CPSM), ethical standards, and educational and networking events. We strive to make sure that the current membership and potential new members are kept aware of all resources and educational opportunities through our affiliate and ISM.

Please take a moment to look at all areas of this website (subject to changes in the future) and attend our monthly meetings and/or seminars that are offered throughout the year.

Our monthly meetings will continue to be at the Holiday Inn – Elm Hill Pike right off of Briley Parkway near the airport. Networking begins at 5:30PM with dinner at 6:00PM. The meeting and dinner will conclude by 8:00PM

Also please check out ISM’s website at www.ism.ws, which you can access on the opening page of our website. ISM has a great amount of information that will help in your job. As an ISM member, you have "free access" to any area of this site.

Talking about ISM, as you can see above in my letter I refer to the Nashville affiliate of ISM. As a Board, we are working to change our name from SMART-Nashville to ISM-Nashville. ISM has certain standards that local affiliates must meet to use their name. Meeting those standards will take some hard work on our part, so if any of you would like to help, please contact me. Our goal is to change our name by the first quarter of 2010. What this means to you is better name recognition when discussing with your management about the benefits from belonging to ISM.

In closing, I want to thank all of you for your continued support and I will welcome any suggestions for change where you think it is needed.
